Tel Aviv Holidays

Overview of Holidays in Tel Aviv

A holiday in Tel Aviv is a holiday you’ll never forget. The city really does have it all - architectural sights, galleries, vibrant nightlife, glorious beaches, gourmet dining, historical sites, shopping; the list goes on.

Whether you’re looking for a family beach holiday, a cultural city break, a week of partying or simply a week of relaxation, Tel Aviv can cater for it all. At Holiday Designers, we can offer you a truly tailored service so that your Tel Aviv holiday is a unique and memorable one.

Things to see & do

  • Jaffa: Thousands of years of history come together in Jaffa, one of the world’s oldest cities, with winding alleys lined with traditional coffee houses, art galleries and shops. A free guided tour (in English) organised by the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Association operates every Wednesday - meet by the clock tower on Yefet Street at 10am.*
  • Beaches: The beachfront at Tel Aviv stretches over 8.7 miles, alongside a promenade and lined with a great variety of restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours, discos and jazz clubs. Live entertainment of many varieties is always on offer, and each beach area has its own unique flavour.
  • Bauhaus Architecture: Tel Aviv was named a World Cultural Heritage site in 2003 by UNESCO, largely because of the typical Bauhaus inspired architecture that earned the city the nickname ‘the White City’. You can see many examples strolling around Rothschild Boulevard, Bialik Street and Dizengoff Circle.
  • Markets: Riotous colours, bustling atmosphere, bargains and treasures - Tel Aviv’s many markets are definitely worth a visit. Some of the best include Jaffa’s flea market, the Creative Artists’ Fairs on Dizengoff and Carmel Market, home to an array of fresh fruits, local cheeses, smoked meats, salted fish, spices and more.
  • Neve Tzedek: See Tel Aviv’s ‘little Paris’, a neighbourhood with a romantic atmosphere and beautifully restored buildings plus the Suzanne Dellal dance and theatre centre.
  • Tel Aviv Port: Promenade with the locals on the broad wooden promenade at the port and revel in the lively atmosphere of Tel Aviv’s premier entertainment hotspot. Restaurants, cafes, clubs, shops and stalls keep things moving day and night.
  • Go shopping: Israeli fashion is known for being creative, daring and chic and you can add to your wardrobe at any of a number of boutiques, shops and malls across town. Twice a year in February and August 3 day fashion fairs are held, with much of the city’s designer talent gathered to display and sell their collections.
  • Stay out late: Tel Aviv’s vibrant nightlife is legendary, with bars, nightclubs, pubs and jazz clubs catering to all kinds of tastes in music and atmosphere.

Dining in Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv plays host to a huge variety of restaurants representing cuisine from all over the world. Arab food, North African inspired fare and traditional Persian dishes are particularly good, as are Eastern European inspired restaurants serving gefilte fish, kugel and cholent.

The quality and freshness of the local produce makes all the difference, and local chefs combine regional produce with traditional cooking techniques from around the world to create unique flavours found only in Israel.

Best Time to go
