Introduction to Holidays in Polis, Cyprus
Polis is an unspoilt region situated approximately 10 miles north of Paphos. The pace of life in Polis is slower and more relaxed than Paphos with a taste of old-world village life.
The main pedestrianised area does have some shops dedicated for tourists but mostly you will find local, authentic Cypriot restaurants and shops with many residents of Cyprus choosing to holiday here. There is an indoor food market selling local meat and fruit.
Polis boasts a blue flag beach status. It has magnificent bright golden sand with ample room for holiday makers to sunbathe and relax.
With its golden sand and pebble beaches, beautiful pedestrianised square surrounded by shops, laid-back tavernas and càfes, many regards Polis as the prettiest part of Cyprus.
Polis is located at the north-west end of the Island at the centre of Chrysochous Bay and on the edge of the Akamas peninsular, a nature reserve area. The transfer time from Paphos is approximately an hour.
