Introduction to Holidays in Paphos, Cyprus
Paphos is a very popular choice for many of our guests heading to Cyprus for their holidays. Situated on the south west coast, Paphos is a cosmopolitan, modern tourist resort with a small but picturesque harbour, many open air tavernas, pavement cafes and bars, fascinating historical sites and ancient monuments. The pretty sand and pebble beaches of Paphos are perfect for a truly relaxing holiday spent in this charismatic resort.
Its many points of historical interest include the Tomb of the Kings, Pillar of St Paul, the mosaics of Paphos and the town museum, to name only a handful. A short drive will take you to the site where, legend has it, Aphrodite, Goddess of love, was born.
For most, though, it is the relaxed and laid back atmosphere around the harbour which is the biggest draw. Full of tavernas and places to sit and watch the world go by, or perhaps you’d like to take a cruise around the bay in one of the colourful fishing vessels. Sparkling clear waters are excellent for swimming, diving and other water sports. Some of the best hotels and restaurants are located in Paphos and you can shop here for fish and local Cyprus delicacies.
Paphos is located on the south west coastline sheltered from the North by the Troodos mountains, just a 20 minute drive from Paphos airport.
